1. Ahmad, what's your current title and position? I'm a family physician practicing telemedicine with HealthTap licensed in all 50 states. Previously, I was with Premise Health.
2. Where did you go to school? I got my medicine MD MPH at American University of Beirut, in Lebanon, and did my Family Medicine residency at SUNY Stoney Brook, in New York.
3. What's an actual prompt you're feeding to GPT that's been helpful to your clinical work? In fact, I use it every day to give patient instructions about various medical conditions.
4. What's the AI tool/use case you can't live without as a physician? I love technology. I designed my own EMR, ACT MD, in 1995 and copyrighted it long before Epic Eclinical Works and NextGen. For AI scribes, I have been using Dragon since version 4. I am still using the desktop edition (I purchased it once, no need for the monthly subscription).
5. What AI resource have you found to be most helpful to get going with AI as a physician?
- Doximity Dialer and Prescriber.
- Chat GPT plus Microsoft, Google and Amazon all offer free AI classes
- The best way is to experience it yourself. I am building an educational tool for patients based on Chat GPT.
6. Why you are so passionate about AI? AI is here to stay, and we are just scratching the surface. It saves a lot of time, it helps physicians provide better care, and it helps patients to understand their medical condition and get more proactively involved in their own care.
