  3. Offcall Columbus Physician Spotlight: Meet Dr. Nikhil Verma

Offcall's referral tool and network is live in Columbus! Any clinician in Columbus can learn more and download the app now to start sending and receiving referrals today. We'll be rolling out city by city soon. Everyone else can sign and share our Fixing Referrals open letter to show your support and bring Offcall to your city sooner.

As part of our mission to lift up Columbus clinicians, each week we feature a different clinician having an incredible impact in the community. This week, meet Dr. Nikhil Verma from Essential Sports & Spine Solutions. Send him a message to connect directly on the Offcall app!

1. Nikhil, tell us a little bit about your practice.
Essential Sports & Spine Solutions is an independent, physician-owned interventional spine and regenerative medicine practice in Columbus. I’m a board-certified PM&R and fellowship-trained interventional spine specialist, and our practice focuses on precision-guided regenerative therapies (PRP, BMAC, Microfat) and opioid-sparing musculoskeletal care. We help active adults avoid unnecessary surgery through evidence-based diagnostics, targeted injections, and comprehensive rehabilitation planning. Referring physicians trust ESS for accurate diagnoses, high-quality communication, and patient-centered, non-surgical solutions that restore function and mobility.

2. Why are you so passionate about doctors being independent? Staying independent matters to me because it lets me practice medicine the way it should be practiced: precise, patient-centered, and free from insurance-driven shortcuts. It means no longer letting insurance companies dictate care. Not getting sucked into a system where I’m forced to see 30-40 patients a day just to make overhead. It gives me the freedom to use advanced regenerative therapies, take the time patients actually need, and maintain the level of clinical excellence I hold myself to. Independence also aligns with my deeper mission: to build something meaningful, follow my purpose, and create a model of care that truly serves people. It’s the only path that lets me stay authentic, innovative, and uncompromised.

3. What’s your biggest hope / dream for the future of the Columbus physician community?
