She spent 20 years grinding inside the nation’s largest health systems... recently jumped ship to a health startup… and now helps lead a movement to fix one of healthcare’s biggest failures: chronic disease management.
This week, we were proud to welcome Dr. Eve Cunningham to How I Doctor! An OB-GYN by training, Eve is a former health system executive who grew tired of seeing our traditional hospital-based approach to treating chronic disease patients. So she recently became the Chief Medical Officer of Cadence, one of the nation’s fastest-growing health tech startups using AI-powered remote patient monitoring to help tens of thousands of seniors safely manage their chronic conditions from home.
What has she learned from this journey? Where can physicians have a bigger impact? Does she think other physicians should make the ultimate career leap?
Her conversation with Offcall co-founder Dr. Graham Walker was filled with career takeaways about what it will actually take to reimagine the future of chronic disease care, why most healthcare innovation fails without physician leadership, and what she’s learned since transitioning to the world of entrepreneurship.
